Celebration of St. Peter’s Erindale Inaugural Service
On Tuesday, November 18th at 7pm we will have a service celebrating the anniversary of the first service of St. Peter’s Erindale held on this land. Join in this meaningful occasion as we worship, give thanks and remember our history. Reception to follow. All are welcome!
Look Who’s Preaching on
Sunday, November 23, 2025!
The Rev. Canon Jennifer Reid is delighted to return to St. Peter’s. Her long and cherished connection with the parish began as Assistant Curate (1989–1991), followed by Assistant Rector (1995–2001), Priest-in-Charge (2001), and Incumbent (2002–2021). During the brief period when she was not serving at St. Peter’s, Jennifer was Chaplain at Lakefield College School (1991–1995).
Jennifer’s husband, Gordon, is the son of beloved parishioner Bert Patterson (and the late Barb Patterson, †2012). Together they have two sons, David and Matthew, who grew up as part of the St. Peter’s community. Among Jennifer’s many wonderful memories of her years at St. Peter’s, she is especially proud of witnessing the newest Incumbent’s journey from baptism to ordination.
In retirement, Jennifer divides her time between her home in Mississauga, her cottage in North Kawartha, and a winter getaway in Portugal.

At St. Peter’s we have two choral ensembles: a contemporary choir for the 9:15 BAS service, and a traditional choir for the 11 am BCP service. THE MAKING OF OUR 200th Anniversary GALA
A behind-the-scenes reminiscence – from Tom Agnew and Rodney Jackson
In May of 2023, after Roshni formed the 200th Anniversary Committee, one of the early event suggestions was a celebratory Gala dinner. One of the members of the Anniversary committee, Michael Davies, was able to secure the Credit Valley Golf and Country Club in Mississauga as the venue. Tom Agnew and Rodney Jackson were then appointed to oversee this project to its conclusion in 2025.
Organizing this milestone event was very much a learning process for us. Eventually, between the committee and the golf club, a date was set for Saturday September 20, 2025. Then planning began in earnest. Read more…

Sellout Success: St. Peter’s Hosts Haunted Mississauga 2025
As darkness fell on the evening of October 24th, spooky organ music emanated from within St. Peter’s, while the churchyard came alive with the shades of early inhabitants of Erindale, then known as Springfield village. A talkative crew, they recounted tales of local controversies and other events in their lives.
Visitors were led through the dimly lit gravestones of St. Peter’s cemetery to engage with costumed storytellers at several lantern-lit stations. Read more…

A Request to share your thoughts about
St. Peter’s Erindale
Our 200th Anniversary year has already been filled with many celebrations and events…with more to come before we finally close out this amazing year in the life of St. Peter’s! We will be creating a Year In Review memorial book to capture the happenings of the year in photos, articles from SPAN, and other stories. Help us write some of these stories by sharing a reflection, a memory, or just a simple thought you have about St. Peter’s Erindale, your experience here over the years, or a highlight of our 200th Anniversary year that stands out for you.
Don’t worry about being super short or writing long. We are happy to receive your words (and photos) in whatever form you care to share. And you can submit anonymously if you wish. Please send by email to: communications@stpeterserindale.ca. The sooner the better, but we will be able to include anything we receive by the end of January 2026.

Help us keep the air we share healthy and fragrance free
The chemicals used in scented products can make some people sick, especially those with fragrance sensitivities, asthma, allergies and other medical conditions. Recently the scents people have been wearing to Sunday services have been quite strong and have irritated the sensitivities of others in the church. Please be mindful of those around you and limit your use of scented body products. Thank you!
Prayer Corner Available
In-person congregants who wish additional, private prayer can meet with a prayer minister following the Sunday services. The Prayer Corner is located in the Bell Tower. Anointing with oil for healing will also be available at this time.
Tuesday, November 4 Bible Study
Bible Study will meet Tuesday, November 4 We meet the first Tuesday of every month from October to May via Zoom from 7:30-8:30 pm. For this session we will be studying a book on Spiritual Gifts.
We are an informal group looking to discuss and learn from each other wherever we are on our Spiritual journey. Facilitated by Linda Ghirardo and Linda Kibblewhite. If interested, please email Linda here.There is a study book we use as a guide for a cost of approx. $15. All are welcome!
Truth & Reconciliation Study Group
The Truth and Reconciliation Study Group meets online by Zoom the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. from September – June. You are cordially invited to attend, learn, ask questions, be involved in open discussions on the monthly topic, and to help plan events. Members of the study group initially came to the group with different entry points in their understanding and knowledge of Canadian/Indigenous history. As a result, we understand the need to tread gently, and respectfully.
We look forward to you attending, and learning alongside us.
