St. Peter’s Erindale is looking for a full-time Associate Priest to help us build on our legacy of engaged and innovative ministry.
Stewardship Update
We would like to offer a sincere thank you for your continued support of St. Peter’s.
Receipted offerings concluded the first half of the year below last year’s level by 2.6% and short of our budgeted target by 7.7%. This has been offset by revenue from two movie shoots early in the year, bringing total revenue equal to last year for the same period.
Expenses are close to budgeted levels year-to-date but higher than last year largely due to higher insurance costs and the hiring of a full-time music director.
The majority of the revenues for St. Peter’s come from the generous givings from our congregation. We are, therefore, asking you to prayerfully evaluate increasing your financial gifts to St. Peter’s. Our givings supports the many ministries, committees and our building and property that are so important to all of us.
Supporting St. Peter’s through the Pre-Authorized Giving (PAG) program helps us by enabling a predictable, sustained cash flow throughout the year. If you are not presently enrolled in the program, you may join by using the PAG Enrollment Form found here. You may change your PAG commitment at any time with the PAG Change Form found here.

All men are invited to join us for a social get together and dinner on Monday February 2, 2026, at 6 p.m. in the parish hall. Enjoy a libation and a delicious dinner cooked by our expert chefs.

ACW Lunch Meeting Tuesday, February 3 at 12:30 PM

We meet in the lounge starting between 12 and 12:30pm. After lunch, Elizabeth has planned a craft to decorate. We will also be sharing any item you wish to bring which is special made for you or by you. This is optional but it helps us to get to know one another better.
Pancake Supper – Tuesday, February 17, 6:00 to 8:00 PM
Once again the 1st Erindale Scouts will be hosting the Pancake Supper here at St. Peter’s. Tickets will be sold after the services on February 1, 8 & 15. You can also reserve tickets by calling (905-828-2095) or emailing (stpeters@stpeterserindale.ca) the church office and then pay for them at the door. Prices: $7/Adult; $5/Senior (65+) or Child (under 10); $20/Family of 4.
Tuesday, December 2 Bible Study
Bible Study will meet Tuesday, December 2. We meet the first Tuesday of every month from October to May via Zoom from 7:30-8:30 pm. For this session we will be studying a book on Spiritual Gifts.
We are an informal group looking to discuss and learn from each other wherever we are on our Spiritual journey. Facilitated by Linda Ghirardo and Linda Kibblewhite. If interested, please email Linda here.There is a study book we use as a guide for a cost of approx. $15. All are welcome!
Truth & Reconciliation Study Group
The Truth and Reconciliation Study Group meets online by Zoom the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. from September – June. You are cordially invited to attend, learn, ask questions, be involved in open discussions on the monthly topic, and to help plan events. Members of the study group initially came to the group with different entry points in their understanding and knowledge of Canadian/Indigenous history. As a result, we understand the need to tread gently, and respectfully.
We look forward to you attending, and learning alongside us.

Christmas Care Program hits record levels.
The generosity and kindness of the people at St. Peter’s reached a new level of caring this Christmas season with donations totalling in excess of $21,000 by December 14th, surpassing our target goal of $17,000 by many thousands of dollars.
These funds enable us to bring Christmas cheer in the form of food, gifts and other needs to the thirty-three families referred to us by Embrave, Trillium Health Partners Oncology and our own parish.
Thank you to all who contributed, and to our team of Christmas angels who will deliver this Christmas cheer to the recipient families.
Special gratitude goes out to Josey Hobbs and Roy Hobbs who, in this their final year of leading our Christmas Care program, guided us to an all-time success.
St. Peter’s Hosts our Traditional Seniors Christmas Worship and Tea
On December 11th St. Peter’s welcomed over 65 people to our annual Senior’s Christmas Worship and Tea celebration. Invitations were extended to residents of retirement homes and long term care homes in our area, as well as members of the parish.
Organized by Helen Baxter and Lenna Mclaughlin, the gathering served up a festive combination of tea sandwiches, sweet treats and, of course, tea and coffee. Read more…
Advent Kick off with Crafts and Carols
To mark the first Sunday of Advent, St. Peter’s kicked off the season with an intergenerational event that included wreath making, Advent Crafts, carol singing and a hot chocolate bar.
The Engler Family (Fritz, Siegrid, Stephanie) and Elizabeth Boyes organized a selection of crafts and activities to create this very happy afternoon of Advent Celebration !
We gathered in the parish hall at 4 pm and together sang a few of our favourite Advent carols. Our director of music, Walt Leminski, played the piano and led us through O Come, O Come Emmanuel, Lo, He Comes With Clouds Descending, and When the King Shall Come Again.

St. Peter’s Advent Calendar – Wrapping up our 200th Anniversary Year
Click on this picture to open our Advent Calendar for 2025. You will be able to open one door at a time from December 1 to Christmas Day, December 25. You can’t open dates yet to come, but you can open back dates up to the actual date.
Behind the dates you’ll find pictures of people, events and the church from the past year, plus historical paintings. And there’s an audio track to each window. You’ll have to wait until Monday to open the first one!
You can click on the link every day and then click on the door to open it, or you can just cut and paste it into your web browser. It opens without installing on your computer.

An Invitation to Sing!
At St. Peter’s we have two choral ensembles: a contemporary choir for the 9:15 BAS service, and a traditional choir for the 11 am BCP service. We are grateful for all those who offer their time and talent throughout the church year. We need more people to volunteer in-person and online for our Sunday services and programs throughout the week. Pick Up Your Photo Directory!
We are excited to announce that the 2025 St. Peter’s Photo Directories have arrived! All those parishioners who had their pictures taken or who submitted a picture to be included in the directory are asked to come pick up a copy on Sunday between the 9:15 and 11am services or from the church office during the week.

Season of Spiritual Renewal
Over the past 14 months we have offered 40 workshops. These have been focused on our primary foci of prayer, scripture, worship, and sharing the faith. Many of our workshop leaders distilled their workshop material into Tip Sheets, to help those who couldn’t participate but who would like to access the most key information shared. These sheets may be particularly helpful to you as church leaders, as you plan for the upcoming year. These are now available to download from the website.

Help us keep the air we share healthy and fragrance free
The chemicals used in scented products can make some people sick, especially those with fragrance sensitivities, asthma, allergies and other medical conditions. Recently the scents people have been wearing to Sunday services have been quite strong and have irritated the sensitivities of others in the church. Please be mindful of those around you and limit your use of scented body products. Thank you!
Prayer Corner Available
In-person congregants who wish additional, private prayer can meet with a prayer minister following the Sunday services. The Prayer Corner is located in the Bell Tower. Anointing with oil for healing will also be available at this time.
Booking a Meeting? We are grateful to have such a busy and lively parish almost every day of the week! As such, please check with the church office before booking any meetings in the church so that we can avoid conflicting bookings and services.
