St Peter’s Hosts Seniors Christmas Worship and Tea

On December 11^th St. Peter’s welcomed over 65 people to our annual Senior’s Christmas Worship and Tea celebration. Invitations were extended to residents of retirement homes and long term care homes in our area, as well as members of the parish.

Organized by Helen Baxter and Lenna Mclaughlin, the gathering served up a festive combination of tea sandwiches, sweet treats and, of course, tea and coffee.

Rev. Roshni led the worship with prayers for the Christmas season.

Sharmini Arulanandam and Shirley Pottruff led music during worship and entertained with Christmas carols during the sing-along, joined by Jean Laduke, deputy warden Amy Colson ( who doubled as Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer), and Bert Patterson for a meaningful singing of “Let There be Peace on Earth.”

The Christmas Tea is grateful to the many volunteers that make the day possible, including the ACW and the Chancel Guild for their help in setting up the parish hall, to Lori Dolloff and Doris Huggett for Christmas favours, and to Parkland on the Glen for the red and white poinsettias that graced the tables.

A merry time was had by all.
