Pastoral Care

A small corps of volunteer Lay Pastoral visitors assist the clergy in visiting people in hospital, senior’s residences, or their homes, or keeping in telephone contact with those who need support.

Regular monthly communion services are offered at Parkland on the Glen, Wenleigh, and Amica City Centre. Volunteers help provide music and other forms of leadership during these services.

Our Home Communion visitors take the blessed sacrament from the altar after a service directly to the homes of people who are too ill to come to worship in person.

Each week, another faithful group delivers flowers from the  Sunday Service to individuals.

Prayer shawls are available. If you have a friend or loved one who needs a special reminder of God’s embrace, ask for a prayer shawl and take it with a note of prayer from us. If you wish to knit prayer shawls the instructions may be found at www.shawlministry.com

At Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter we bring 60-70 seniors from a variety of homes and facilities to the church for our Seniors Tea, a joy filled celebration with Holy Communion, tea and treats and singing.

Grief Support Groups are offered at various times during the year. These groups are intended for adults who are grieving the loss of a partner, sibling, parent, or friend and would like support in their grief. Topics of discussion include dealing with emotions, self-care, relationships, and coping with special days.

Our clergy regularly visits the Credit Valley and Trillium Hospitals and is on call for emergency services and follow up after patients have been discharged from hospital.

To inform the clergy of a hospitalization or pastoral need, please call the Church Office at 905-828-2095. If you would like to assist in any of the pastoral care ministries, please contact Rev. Roshni who can discuss with you the requirement for the volunteer positions.
